Since opening in the fall of 2015, Legacy Traditional School at Marley Park has experienced fully enrolled capacity with a long waitlist. As one of Arizona’s top-rated K-8 charter schools, Legacy’s planned expansion is important to meet our community’s growing education needs.

In November 2016, Legacy Traditional School (LTS) closed on the purchase of 3.89 acres adjacent to the existing school site in Marley Park. LTS will build a separate structure on the site that will accommodate additional classrooms for 600 students, a second computer lab, a piano lab, additional cafeteria facilities, and also a 4,000 square foot indoor turf area for gym and fitness classes.

Construction on the new structure will begin in early 2017; it is expected to be completed for the start of the 2017/18 school year.

Said school Principal Nicole Kirkley, this campus expansion is a great solution for Legacy Traditional School to provide its top-quality education to more students in the West Valley.

Now in its second academic school year, Legacy Traditional School at Marley Park is guided by the principle that education provides more than academic instruction. Legacy believes every student deserves the benefit and reward of a high-quality, well-rounded education from all areas of academic study, including music, art, physical education and extracurricular activities.

“Legacy Traditional School has been a great match for the Marley Park community given our shared value for excellence in education and community engagement,” said Director of Community Life for Marley Park Todd Hornback. “We are excited for their expansion and growth in our neighborhood.”
