Marley Park’s First Pitch
Marley Park and Spring Training just go together.
As a sponsor of the Surprise Stadium this season, Marley Park received a few perks. On Sunday, March 13, when the Cleveland Indians took on the Kansas City Royals, our community hosted an in-suite party.
Marley Park Leadership and their guests attended the party. Twenty-five additional Marley Park residents came out for the game on us – their raffle winnings from the Marley Park: Connected event held the previous weekend.
As an added bonus for sponsorship, Marley Park was invited to throw out the first pitch. Karen Zelek, Community Engagement Coordinator, represented our community.
Karen stepped to the pitcher’s mound, as the announcer read the following: “Throwing out today’s first pitch for Marley Park is Karen Zelek, an 8 year Marley Park resident and key member of the Community Engagement team which creates the community’s one-of-a-kind lifestyle.”
Boy did Karen represent Marley Park well, throwing right across the plate and into the catcher’s glove.
Says Karen of throwing that pitch: “For me, the experience was one of the most exciting times of my life! I will never forget the opportunity that I was given. My family across the miles anxiously awaited the photos. They were so proud to say, ‘Look what my Mom just did!’.”
