Marley Park celebrates benevolent spirit at annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration
Marley Park was founded on the principle of volunteerism and that its residents would share a common desire to actively engage with each other and the greater region of which they are a part. Residents contribute their time, effort, and talent giving back to Marley Park and the community of Surprise. They lead clubs, host community events, and contribute to our Neighborhood News and online community. Outside Marley Park, our volunteers spend time at soup kitchens and food banks, host charitable clothing drives, volunteer at Marley Park Elementary School, and organize fundraisers for various Northwest Valley charities.
Since 2007, this spirit of empowerment to create positive change has been honored at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration. This year, members of the community are invited to recognize the many individuals who give so much of themselves on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Heritage Club. A light brunch will be provided by Sunsational Coffee. And West Valley Arts Council has graciously coordinated live blues and jazz music by the Uvon Brooks Quartet, and children’s arts and crafts activities to add to the enjoyment of the event.
At the Volunteer Appreciation Celebration, nominees will be recognized for their contributions to the community in one of four “Volunteer of the Year” categories. They are: Behind-the-Scenes Volunteer, Greater Community Volunteer, Youth Volunteer, and Overall Volunteer of the Year. The annual event is also a great time to join in the spirit of giving back by learning about current and upcoming opportunities within Marley Park and the greater community. Please RSVP on Marleypark.net. We look forward to seeing you there!
