Enjoy July 4th four ways in Marley Park
Independence day is coming up and the Marley Park Community Association has your celebration plans lined up. All you have to do is mark your calendar and RSVP for the 8th Annual Star Spangled Celebration. Here is what’s in store for your family and neighbors on July 4.
Patriotic Pancake Breakfast | 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. | Heritage Club
Boy Scout Pack 921 is whipping up a batch of homemade pancakes at the Heritage Club for all to enjoy. Bring a couple of crisp George Washington dollar bills to support the local scouts organization.
Community Parade | 9 – 9:15 a.m. | Marley Park (153rd & Valentine area)
Break out your red, white, and blue to decorate your bikes, golf carts, or classic cars and be a part of the spirited procession through Marley Park. Everyone is welcome, but RSVP is requested if you’ll be participating in the parade. Parade line up begins at 8:30 a.m. The parade route will end at the Veterans Commemorative Plaza.
Dedication Ceremony | 9:15 a.m. | Veterans Commemorative Plaza
The Veterans Commemorative Plaza is a community-led project to honor the five branches of the military. The pentagon-shaped plaza and flag pole is scheduled for completion later this year, but will be dedicated on Independence Day — the most patriotic day of the year!
Pool Party | 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. | Heritage Pool House
Our 8th Annual Star Spangled pool party will sizzle with an all-American barbecue dinner by Fire-Up BBQ, live DJ, water games, and inflatable waterslides. Admission is $5 per person through June 23, and $10 after that, so register early. Marely Park neighbors may bring up to four guests at $10 per person. All current or former military service men and women are invited to enjoy the celebration at no charge.
Volunteers are needed to help make the Star-Spangled Celebration a success. Those volunteers who donate a minimum of two hours of their time receive complimentary entry to the pool party. For more information, please contact Karen at 623.466.8832, or Rosalba at 623.466.8831.
