Take a Creative Stroll during Art in the Park
The Marley Park Community Association, Inc. (MPCA) is excited to get residents involved by helping to shape the stories that will fill the enchanting Storybook Park during the Art in the Park event on Saturday, March 21 from 11 am – 1 pm.
Teaming up with the DMB, the West Valley Arts Council and local artists, the MPCA Programs team needs inspiration from our community youth to help etch their story on the nine “story stones.”
We strongly encourage children to the age of 16 to attend our Art in the Park event, being hosted simultaneously at three community parks: Bumblebee Park, Marley Park and Storybook Park. We know the youth has a lot of creative ideas to share, and we’d love to see their imagination at work either through words or pictures detailing what our community park(s) mean to them, and why it is fun to play there! Examples would be favorite memories, activities, events, games, etc.; art supplies provided.
The Programs team will then gather the provided inspiration and use them to help create the stories for the nine pillars.
Storybook Park provides a captivating setting with wide-open green space lined with shady seating areas ideal for relaxing with a favorite book. Families can also stroll through the small garden niches and reflect on the “story stones” and the lasting legacy they will behold on future residents.
