The story of Storybook Park is just beginning
On April 23, Marley Park neighbors celebrated the grand opening of our newest park, Storybook Park.
The story behind Storybook Park is a special one for our community. It involves children of all ages in Marley Park who tapped into their imaginations and artistic skills to create the beautiful art installed throughout the park.
Over 200 neighbors and friends came out to enjoy the children’s story-themed grand opening celebration. The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland joined the party to twist balloons into amazing creations. Elsa from Frozen painted children’s faces and joined the children in singing “Let it Go.” Guests also enjoyed a bounce house, music and our design-your-own-sundae bar.
To help inspire a continued love of reading, our community partner, Surprise Regional Library, helped the kids learn about library cards, books, and upcoming classes and events.
Any Marley Park story would be incomplete without a philanthropic chapter. Fortunately, the hearts of Marley Park’s littlest residents are just as big as their imaginations. Our community donated 53 new and gently used books to Phoenix Children’s Hospital and other local non-profits serving children.
If your child took part in the Art in the Park event to create original art work for used in the creation of the pillars, it is now available to you. Please contact engagement@marleypark.com or stop by the Heritage Club office.
