Celebrating our Independence the Marley Park Way
On July 4, 1776, our forefathers adopted the Declaration of Independence, a document that gave birth to American independence. Since then, Americans have come together to celebrate Independence Day with all kinds of fun festivities that include barbecues, fireworks, concerts and parades.
Here in Marley Park, we have our own tradition of celebrating this very important day—our Star-Spangled Celebration.
The Fourth of July
Marley Park’s Star-Spangled Celebration starts out the morning of the Fourth of July with our very own Pancake Breakfast. This year, from 7:30-10:30 a.m., Boy Scout Troop 194 will be behind the griddle serving up delicious fare at the Heritage Club. Donations will benefit the local Boy Scouts.
At 9 a.m., take a short break from breakfast and join fellow Marley Park neighbors for our Patriotic Parade, which starts at Marley Park (153rd Avenue and Valentine Street) and ends at Veterans Commemorative Plaza. Show your love for our country by decorating your ride patriotic style—whether it’s a bike, golf cart or classic car, all are welcome. If you plan to participate, be sure to line up at 8:30 a.m. at the start of the parade.
The day will culminate with our Star-Spangled Celebration Pool Party at the Heritage Pool House, an event sure to entertain the entire family. Feast on an all-American barbecue dinner, let the kids loose on the bounce house waterslides, and enjoy mingling with neighbors around the pools. We’ll have a DJ to keep the party rocking and, if that doesn’t already sound like too much fun, wait till you see the 18-foot snow slide! It’s a cool new addition this year.
