Small business incubator opens to West Valley entrepreneurs
Attention Marley Park entrepreneurs. Did you know that just minutes from Marley Park is the West Valley’s first collaborative workspace and idea incubator? The Innovation Hub @ GoodyearAZ opened in February and is the fourth location of the Alexandria Co-working Network, a partnership of ASU’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group and the Maricopa County Library District. The Goodyear co-working location joins three other incubator sites also located in libraries in Scottsdale, Mesa, and Phoenix.
The Innovation Hub @ GoodyearAZ is located at the expanded library at the Goodyear Municipal Complex at 14455 W. Van Buren Street, a $1.1 million facility that contains 9,600-square-feet, more than 5,000 books, eight computer stations and a multi-purpose room. Its purpose is to help provide more support and resources to entrepreneurs, innovators, and small businesses for turning their ideas into reality. The Innovation Hub @ Goodyear AZ is free and open to the public during normal library hours.
The Alexandria Co-working Network was inspired by the world’s first great library in Alexandria, Egypt. In addition to housing books, the library was a gathering place for sharing information and knowledge. The digital age has transformed how libraries serve their communities, and the Alexandria Co-Working Network is helping them to repurpose available space to encourage and support local innovation and entrepreneurship.
Goodyear’s entrepreneurship and small business incubator is the latest addition to an ever-expanding mecca of opportunity in the West Valley–from medicine and technology to retail and entertainment–and a big part of what makes life at Marley Park so enticing.
