Surprise, Arizona Home Community, Marley Park, Honored with Westmarc Award 2nd Year in a Row
Marley Park Community Card recognized for Building Business
SURPRISE, AZ (November 3, 2006) - The Western Maricopa Coalition (WESTMARC) honored the northwest Phoenix, Arizona new home community, Marley Park's Community Association at the 14th Annual awards ceremony last week with a Best of the West "Building Business Award" for their Marley Park Community Club Card program. The Best of the West Awards recognize contributions to the image, lifestyle and economic development of Western Maricopa County. "The Marley Park Community Club Card program fosters a special sense of community by creating opportunities for merchants and residents to become acquainted and interact," said Kelsea Vescova, Marley Park community manager.
The innovative Marley Park Community Club Card program is the first of its kind for Valley communities. Given as a welcome gift for new residents, the card provides residents exclusive discounts and offers from local merchants, who in turn receive additional exposure for their businesses. "To move into a new community and receive unique services and products from local merchants has proved to me that the quality of life in Marley Park cannot be surpassed," said Sandy Cather, Marley Park resident.
Launched with 12 merchants just over a year ago, the Marley Park Community Club Card program has grown to 60 merchants through word-of-mouth and resident referrals of local merchants.
Some of the area businesses and community organizations participating in the Marley Park Community Club Card program include The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Classic Gift Baskets, New York Pizza Department, HealthNut Fitness & Spa for Her, West Valley Art Museum, Challenger Space Center, Heard Museum and Wildlife World Zoo, among others.
"Since joining the program we have many residents coming in proudly displaying their Marley Park Club Card," said Tom Rosas, general manager of NYPD Pizza in Surprise.
Last year, Marley Park Phase I LLC, which is developing the new homes in Arizona at Marley Park, was also honored with a Best of the West "Building Business Award."
WESTMARC was founded in 1990 to promote a positive image for Western Maricopa County and to advocate on its behalf. WESTMARC promotes public policies leading to responsible growth, a positive quality of life, a healthy environment, strong community development and a favorable public image.
